Description

The planning of the East Coast Boardwalk project commenced in 2009. After years of public engagement, it was eventually decided that under this project, the space beneath the Island Eastern Corridor was ingeniously utilised to construct such a critical harbourfront facility in order to overcome environmental barriers with an innovative design which defines the shoreline of Hong Kong Island North.

"Stroll East Coast: East Coast Boardwalk Tour" invites everyone to explore this highly unique "Harbourfront Shared Space." Led by East Coast Boardwalk Ambassadors, the tour will share the design philosophies behind the boardwalk in an accessible yet insightful manner. Highlights include the 8 distinct theme zones, the historic introduction of Victoria Harbour's first movable bascule bridges and movable swing bridge, an experiential glass observatory deck, and  a series of multi-functional open spaces — all designed to help you rediscover and feel the dynamic vitality of the Victoria Harbour waterfront.
